Display Home Styling Tips - Laidback Eco Resort
Rawson Homes' interior designer Julia Johnson shows you how to create a Laidback Echo Resort look in any home.
This style is all about organic natural materials that promote a sense of relaxation and calm.
Warm coffee timber flooring and neutral paint colours help to ground this scheme. Accent colours of burnt orange and mossy green bring in a natural elegance. Have a go at creating your own home design with our virtual Dreambuilder studio.
Deep oversized feather modular sofa works – perfect in the living space and invite you to kick off your shoes and unwind. The sofa is brought to life with a mixture of textured cushions in variety of patterns with a bit of an Aztec earthy feel.
As this style is not intended to be to staged or overly styled, clashing of patterns and textures is unwelcomed.
Go with furniture that has timber legs rather than stainless steel. Julia suggests natural rattan furniture as it works well with rustic timbers.
I added highly textured check grass wallpaper to the dropped down ceiling in the kitchen, it really helped give the kitchen a bit of personality and added a point of contrast . If you're inspired and want to try this out at home stay with light colours as dark tones can enclose your space.
To finish off this home Julia decided on thick blade wedge plantation shutters and heavily textured thick linen curtains as these complete and complement the tropical theme. Check out our display homes to see more modern home design styles.
